The Toru toaster emphasises Nendo’s ability to reduce objects down to their fundamentals. A few precise brush strokes are all it takes to design an elegantly proportioned object made even more minimalist by the use of steel. In Japanese, “toru” means “through” and with this toaster a black element, that appears to pass through the body of the object, becomes a pair of handles that resolve a functional necessity using inventive shapes.

##SPECIFICATION##

Lucy ★★★★★

The design is so stripped down it almost looks like a sculpture on my counter, yet the proportions make it incredibly intuitive to use. Every morning I catch myself just glancing at it before the toast pops.

Scarlett ★★★★★

The slot is so perfectly proportioned that my thick sourdough fits without getting stuck, and the toast comes out evenly golden every time. I love how the minimalist design makes it look like a piece of art on my counter.

Evelyn Q. ★★★★★

The brushed steel finish feels substantial and clean, not a fingerprint magnet at all. I love how the simple dial control makes my morning toast routine feel more deliberate.
