The Dervisci tumblers by Michele De Lucchi were inspired by the spinning movement of the turning-lathe used to model sheet metal on a die, progressively shaping the object's volume. De Lucchi associates the rotating machine with the dance of whirling dervishes, who reach a state of trance by reciting prayers while continuously spinning round and round, a symbol of planets orbiting. The sculptural, dynamic design of the three Dervisci tumblers is enhanced by the different finishes of the metal surface: polished steel; steel with copper PVD coating; steel with brass PVD coating; and steel with satined gunmetal PVD coating.

Scarlett B. ★★★★★

Watching the light catch the polished metal surface as I spin the tumbler in my hand, I can see exactly what the designer meant about the turning-lathe inspiration. The weight feels balanced and solid, making it perfect for my evening water ritual.

Lily Y. ★★★★★

I was pleasantly surprised by how the spinning lathe technique gives each glass a subtle, unique ripple in the light. The weight feels just right in my hand—solid but not heavy. It’s become my go-to for evening drinks.

The way the metal catches the light from those lathe-spun curves is honestly mesmerizing — you can see the motion frozen in the shape. They feel solid and well-balanced in the hand, and the die-formed volume gives each one a slightly unique character. I’ve been reaching for them every day since they
