The Delft decoration brings a gust of foreign elegance to the famous corkscrew, reinterpreting the art of Dutch ceramics. Mendini draws from the colours of the ancient tradition of Delftware in a totally personal manner: the charm of the decoration, noted the designer, “lies in generating evocative forms, drawing from the world of fables, childhood tales and the iconography of the agrarian memories of Dutch grandmothers”.

The ceramic handle is a little heavier than your standard corkscrew, which actually gives it a nice, sturdy feel when you're pulling a cork. I've had mine on the counter for a week and the blue Delft pattern still catches my eye every time I walk past. It's a functional tool that doubles as a small

Richard ★★★★★

The blue and white ceramic pattern on the handle makes this corkscrew feel more like a little piece of art than a kitchen tool. It pulls corks smoothly without much effort, and the Dutch tile-inspired design definitely stands out on my counter.
