Les couverts Clivo sont le fruit d'une étude sur les ustensiles de cuisine en fibres végétales, et plus particulièrement sur les outils traditionnels japonais en bambou. Le nom (du latin clivus, pente) évoque le geste de la sculpture, qui consiste à retirer progressivement de la matière pour obtenir la forme souhaitée. La collection a pris forme à partir de prototypes sculptés à la main par un modeleur travaillant avec le designer, dans une recherche minutieuse et méticuleuse du détail.
