Discover the Alessi Rocc containers, available in two sizes. Learn which size fits your storage needs and how to use them for candles, trinkets, and more.
Quick Answer
For most homes, the small Rocc container is ideal for candles and small trinkets, while the large size suits bulkier items like kitchen staples or larger candles. Choose based on what you plan to store.
Why Size Matters
The Rocc collection offers two sizes, each designed for different storage needs. The small container is perfect for holding a single scented candle or small items like rings and keys. The large container provides more room for bigger candles, pantry staples, or a collection of odds and ends.
Both containers share the same minimalist design, so your choice comes down to what you intend to store. If you're unsure, think about the primary use: candle holder or multi-purpose storage.
Material and Care Considerations
Both Rocc containers are made from 18/10 stainless steel, a durable material that resists corrosion and maintains its shine. This makes them suitable for kitchen use, but they are not oven-safe or microwave-safe. Hand washing is recommended to preserve the finish.
The lid helps keep contents clean and protected, but it is not airtight. For food storage, use them for dry goods like pasta or tea bags rather than items that require an airtight seal.
Versatility Beyond Storage
While designed as containers, the Rocc pieces double as elegant decorative objects. Their simple geometric form complements modern and classic interiors alike. You can use them on a shelf, coffee table, or kitchen counter without hiding them away.
When the candle burns out, you can easily repurpose the container for other items, extending its life and value.
Which Rocc Container Should You Choose?
- Small Rocc (162854): Choose the small size if you plan to use it with a standard scented candle, hold jewelry, keys, or other small trinkets, or place it on a shelf or desk where space is limited. Check the diameter of your candle to ensure it fits before purchasing.
- Large Rocc (162853): Choose the large size for bigger candles, storing kitchen dry goods like pasta or tea bags, or grouping items like remote controls or craft supplies in a living area. Measure the intended storage area to confirm the larger footprint works for you.
- Repurposing: After the candle is finished, clean the container and reuse it for any of the above purposes. The lid keeps contents dust-free. Consider buying both sizes: the small for candles, the large for everyday storage.
