Discover playful, pet-inspired Italian design gifts from ALESSI UK. The Vigo bookstand, Giampo dog clips, and Lampo cat clips each bring a refined touch to your home.
Quick answer
For a memorable animal lover gift, choose the Vigo bookstand for a bold statement piece, or pick the Giampo or Lampo magnetic clips for a practical yet playful desk accessory.
Why these three stand out
Each piece in this trio is designed by Miriam Mirri and belongs to ALESSI's Pet-inspired Gifts for Animal Lovers category. They share a playful animal motif but serve different purposes, so your choice depends on where the recipient will use it and how much they value function versus display.
The Vigo bookstand is a larger, sculptural item that anchors a shelf or desk. The Giampo and Lampo clips are smaller, magnetic helpers for notes and reminders. All three are made from durable materials—steel with red epoxy resin for Vigo, thermoplastic resin for the clips—so they hold up well in daily use.
Trade-offs to consider
The Vigo bookstand costs more and takes up more space, but it works as a standalone decorative object. The clips are more affordable and compact, but they are less visually dominant. If the recipient already has a minimalist desk, the clips add a subtle animal accent without overwhelming the space. For a maximalist shelf or a home library, the Vigo bookstand makes a stronger impression.
Color options are available for the Giampo and Lampo clips, so you can match them to the recipient's existing palette. The Vigo bookstand comes only in the red epoxy resin finish shown, which may not suit every decor scheme.
How to choose the right piece
- Choose Vigo if: You want a sculptural bookend that doubles as decor. It's best for a home library, a prominent shelf, or as a gift for someone who loves both reading and dogs.
- Choose Giampo or Lampo if: You need a functional desk or kitchen accessory. The magnetic clips hold notes, photos, or lightweight reminders, and their smaller size fits any workspace.
- Consider the recipient's style: Vigo's red epoxy resin is a high-gloss, eye-catching finish. The clips come in multiple colours, so you can match the recipient's existing palette or pick a contrasting accent. Check the available colour options for Giampo and Lampo before ordering to ensure the best match.
Product details
- Vigo: The Vigo bookstand is crafted in steel with a vibrant red epoxy resin finish and stands 23 cm tall. Its sturdy construction and bold color make it a confident statement piece for any book lover who also adores animals.
Vigo - Giampo: The Giampo clips are a two-clip set in thermoplastic resin with a magnet, designed to hang reminders or clamp notes. The magnet allows them to attach to metal surfaces like a fridge or filing cabinet, adding a playful dog face to everyday organization.
